From 2018–2020, I served as principal communications and training manager for Chorus, Vox Media’s publishing platform.
Working with Nicole has been an absolute highlight of my career so far. I cannot say enough good things about them and the way they transformed our team and products for the better.
I oversaw countless product launches and special projects for Chorus, communicating directly with editorial teams and their broad public audiences. One of my favorite projects was helping to vastly improve the platform’s accessibility features. I worked with product and editorial leads to roll out iterative improvements, including clearer guidelines within the CMS, critical bug fixes, in-depth training and documentation, and better ways of tracking feedback from people with disabilities.
I wrote the company’s accessibility statement and created modular training for editorial teams to meet our commitment to inclusivity. The curriculum included topic-based accessibility guidelines for text, images, videos, audio files and podcasts, tables, motion, and color contrast.

I also developed videos and a longform explainer to demonstrate how screen readers work when reading stories, navigating by heading level, and announcing various combinations of alt text, captions, and image credits. Throughout the process, I worked closely with Ethan Marcotte and accessibility experts at PAC to ensure the materials were accurate and thorough.
