About
I have over 20 years of experience leading complex UX projects for clients in tech, publishing, education, finance, and government. As a generalist, I tend to follow my interests and people I respect. That strategy has shaped my career—from writing for Apple and Facebook, to researching across industries, teaching at SVA, and managing remote teams at 18F, Nava, and Vox Media.
In 2014, I cowrote Nicely Said: Writing for the Web with Style and Purpose, which has been called practical, approachable, and timeless. (I hope to write another book someday.)

About this site
This is my public portfolio. My goal here is to make my work accessible by sharing ideas as they evolve and by making the information usable on any device.
The site is built with Kirby and custom code from James Steel and Max Fenton. Thank you to Tina Nguyen and Jen Armbrust for collaborating with me on these designs.
If you have any issues browsing or accessing the content, please let me know. And thank you, as always, for reading along.
